Facial and Aesthetician

Updated: Jun 7, 2021

What is facial? Do facial really help with achieving your skincare goals? Are they as important as the Beauty Industry claims them to be? Lastly, who are these aestheticians and why do we need them?

When it comes to skincare, I’m pretty sure that these thoughts or questions have come across our minds. To answer the first question, a facial is a treatment that is performed by an esthetician. The treatment focuses on detoxifying and cleansing, while hydrating and replenishing nutrients back into the skin. The skin is the largest organ on our bodies. Just as we put in effort to keep other organs in our bodies healthy, the same action needs to apply with our skin. Our Skin is exposed and comes into contact with everything around us. It keeps from getting infections and holding fluids so we can stay hydrated. The skin does so many things and overall it protects us. Visiting a local esthetician monthly and having a homecare regimen, is the way of keeping our skin healthy. Getting a facial is like going to our physician for a check up. We need a professional to analyze and give us insight on how to take care of our skin. Next, having a daily routine within our skincare regime is essential. Think of our daily skincare routine as going to the gym and working out. We go to the gym to achieve our physical health goals and we keep going to the gym, to maintain our results. Another important factor is the products that we use at home in our skin regimen. The products we are using are foods for our skin. Key ingredients that should be included in our homecare regimen are Vitamin C, Hyaluronic Acid and Vitamin A. The reason why they are important, because they provide nutrients for the skin. Vitamin C is an antioxidant that fights off free radicals and brightens the skin. It also strengthens the skin acid mantle. Furthermore, Hyaluronic Acid is naturally produced from our bodies and it brings hydration to the skin while strengthening the intercellular matrix in the skin. Finally, we have Vitamin A which helps stimulate collagen within the skin and improve the skin quality.

As an Aesthetician myself at Belia Skin and Beauty Spa, servicing clients and interacting with other aestheticians at Belia has taught me that everyone's skin and needs are different. At Belia we customized it accordingly. It is important to listen and understand the needs of our clients, combining both of the methods will result in client satisfaction. As wonderful human beings we desire to have youthful, flawless and healthy skin. A thorough and skillful aesthetician will help you achieve those goals.
